AL-MUSTAKBAL LAUNCHES INTERNSHIP PROGRAM, AIMING TO PROVIDE
SUDANESE STUDENTS WITH THE NECESSARY SKILLS TO BE COMPETITIVE IN THE
GLOBAL LABOR MARKET
Al-Mustakbal, a nonprofit organization aiming to provide mentorship
and internship opportunities, just launched its Internship Program in
an effort to provide Sudanese students with opportunities to gain firsthand
experience and practical skills.
The Internship Program (IP) is the flagship program under Al-Mustakbal’s
Tamreen Initiative, which aims to provide vocational training required
by employers in the professional world. The IP will provide
structured internship programs to Sudanese students at home and
abroad.
Al-Mustakbal’s IP team has partnered with local business firms
Kenana Sugar Company and Haggar Holding Company as well as NGOs
Al-Manar Organization and Humanitarian Aid & Development. The team
has worked to structure internship programs in business, finance,
corporate IT, and development. These internship opportunities will take
place throughout the summer months of May – September 2013.
Al-Mustakbal will both oversee the selection process for the applicants
and the completion of the internship.
Al-Mustakbal believes that the Internship Program will allow highachieving
Sudanese youth to become more globally competitive
and professionally successful in the future. Through a structured
and efficient internship system, the IP has the potential to create
a competitive and skillful future labor force.
Al-Mustakbal is currently accepting applications for the IP from qualified
students and young professionals interested in interning in Sudan for the
summer of 2013. The application deadline is April 1st, 2013. More
